this website is dedicated to make the humanities and arts more accessible to people of every walk of life.

i strive to impart the intellectual and moral worthiness of supporting the humanities in higher education.

I aim to highlight the role of creativity in motivating important intellectual and artistic production.

with tentacles reaching to various fields of the humanities (forgive me for the analogy), i am:

  • current ma candidate at university of Houston.

  • author of “aesthetician” (an online blog series on the values and fun of studying the humanities).

  • pianist and flutist. i studied with Arthur Greene and jenny shin.

  • RYT 200 hr yoga teacher (certified in the april of 2024).

  • 5th-semester fluent in attic greek.

i hold a bachelor of arts degree in classics & philosophy from university of michigan(2019-2023), after transferring from Northeastern philosophy (2018-2019). check out my mission statement for a philosophical education.

Before America, I went to school in Shanghai: jianping west (2012-2015), pinghe (2015-2018). check out my views on “elite education” in the chinese version of the gilded age.

Before Shanghai, I was born & raised in Kunming (2000-2012). my family came from a little village in zhuji, Zhejiang (浙江诸暨骆家山). we eventually settled in Kunming.

outside the humanities (actually, still within):

i live in Houston with my cat teodor (adopted at the incredible humane society).
